Makar Old Tom Gin named ‘Category Champion’ at 2022 Bartenders’ Brands Awards

The 2022 Bartenders’ Brands Awards have been published and Makar Old Tom Gin has been awarded two Gold Medals and named overall Gin Category Champion.

Competing against 50 other gins, Makar Old Tom was the only product to be awarded a Gold Medal in the Taste and Value categories.

Described by the award organisers as “everything you want from Old Tom, with a perfectly pitched sugar level and balance of juniper and coriander” Makar Old Tom was up against some stiff competition from some of the world’s favourite gin brands.

Makar Old Tom is handcrafted with a selection of carefully balanced botanicals, including fresh orange, almond and angelica root, which all sit alongside a healthy amount of juniper which lies at the heart of the spirit. Old Tom is blended with a dash of runny honey post-distillation to give a wonderful delicate sweetness and luxurious mouthfeel.
