Introducing Our First Ever Glasgow 1770 10 Year Old Peated Single Malt

There's something incredibly special about sharing a whisky that has been ten years in the making.

Today, we're proud to introduce our first-ever Glasgow 1770 10 Year Old Peated Single Malt Scotch Whisky, a release that marks an important milestone in our journey and celebrates a decade since we first began producing peated spirit here at The Glasgow Distillery.

Back in 2016, we filled our first peated casks with a vision of creating a smoky Glasgow single malt that would sit alongside our unpeated and triple-distilled styles. A decade later, peated whisky has become a key part of what we do, accounting for around five months of our annual production and earning a loyal following among whisky drinkers around the world.

This release takes us right back to the beginning of that story.

For our inaugural 10 Year Old Peated expression, we've brought together spirit matured in three ex-Bourbon casks, comprising two refill casks and one first-fill cask. After ten years of maturation, these casks were carefully married together and bottled at 54% ABV.

The decision to mature this whisky exclusively in ex-Bourbon oak was a deliberate one. We wanted to showcase the evolution of our peated spirit over a decade without overwhelming it with additional cask influence. The result is a whisky that allows the distillery character, the peat smoke and the years spent maturing in oak to shine through.

Opening these casks after ten years has been a genuinely rewarding experience. This whisky was filled at the very beginning of our peated whisky journey, and seeing how beautifully it has developed over the years has been a proud moment for our team.

On the nose and palate, you'll find delicate bonfire smoke, honeyed sweetness, tropical fruit and bright citrus notes, balanced by a gentle waxy texture and lingering oak spice. Like all Glasgow 1770 single malts, it is presented natural in colour and non-chill filtered.

As one of our most limited releases to date, only 550 bottles have been produced. Each bottle is presented in a gift carton, making it a special addition to any whisky collection and a memorable gift for whisky enthusiasts.
