The eagerly anticipated release of Cask Strength Batch 03 is here! 

Following the continued success of our previous cask strength releases, we're delighted to unveil Batch 03 of Glasgow 1770 Cask Strength single malts, inviting our customers to once again experience our spirit in its most raw and uncompromising form.

Glasgow 1770 Cask Strength The Original and Glasgow 1770 Cask Strength Peated are bottled straight from the cask, unchill-filtered and at natural cask strength, offering an authentic snapshot into our evolving house style across our double distilled unpeated and peated production.

Brought together our blending team, Mike, Seb and Alex, both expressions are a trio of casks chosen to showcase depth, balance, and character while remaining true to the bold spirit that defines our Glasgow 1770 Single Malt Scotch Whisky.

Glasgow 1770 Cask Strength The Original
Using our double distilled unpeated malted barley, this whisky is matured in first-fill ex-Bourbon casks before a finishing period in heavily charred Virgin American White Oak from Kelvin Cooperage. This carefully considered maturation brings together bright fruit character, rich sweetness and layers of warming oak spice.

For Batch 03, our distillery team hand-selected three exemplary casks of The Original and married them together for a limited outturn of just 750 bottles.

At cask strength, the fruity heart that defines Glasgow 1770 The Original is beautifully amplified, revealing prominent notes of zesty Seville orange marmalade, dried apricot, toffee apple, poached pear and toasted pineapple. A true taste of Glasgow Distillery single malt in its most natural form.

Glasgow 1770 Cask Strength Peated
We craft this whisky using malted barley peated to 50ppm with mainland peat from Aberdeenshire. It is matured in Virgin American White Oak for over four and a half years before an extended secondary maturation of over three years within Pedro Ximénez Sherry casks, creating a whisky where deep smoke, sweet spice and decadent fruit notes come together in balance.

Following the success of previous batches, which were awarded a Gold Medal at the 2024 Scotch Whisky Masters, Batch 03 continues the series with a carefully selected vatting of three exceptional hogsheads. Each cask was chosen to highlight the rich, smoky depth that defines our Glasgow 1770 Peated style, with just 1000 bottles released.

Expect layers of rich BBQ smoke, tobacco leaf and luxurious smoked Ibérico ham, intertwined with sticky poached plums, dried apricot and flamed orange zest - a powerful yet refined expression of our peated house style.
