Our third distillery release that uses Tokaji casks, this is our first Peated Tokaji single malt expression. A vatting of two sister casks, 18/961 and 18/962, both virgin American white oak casks that were initially filled with our peated new make spirit before moving into two Hungarian Tokaji hogsheads.

Primary maturation: 2 years and 8 months

Secondary maturation: 2 years and 8 months

What is Tokaji?
Tokaji is a Hungarian sweet white wine from the historic region of Tokaj which lies at the north-eastern border of Hungary with Slovakia.

We consider Tokaji wine casks one of the most interesting and intriguing maturation selections due to the intensely tropical and ripe fruit notes that are gained from aging in this type of wood.

What’s the difference from the last Tokaji releases?
Our first release using Tokaji casks was with our Triple Distilled spirit. The second and most recent time was using our Unpeated new make spirit. For this expression, we’re experimenting further with the use of our Peated spirit. 

The rich BBQ smoke from our peated single malt compliments the dark fruits and spice from the new American white oak and the intensely think and honeyed fruity characteristics from the Tokaji finish. 

Tasting notes: Candied orange peel, sweet tropical smoke, dried apricot, cashew nut, manuka honey, dark chocolate.
