Makar Gin Headlines Lidl Scottish Gin Festival

From Thursday 3rd May, we are delighted to be headlining the LIDL Scottish Gin Festival.

Our Makar Original Dry Gin and Makar Oak Aged Gin will both be available in 50cl variants priced at £19.99 whilst stocks last.

The Festival will be hitting the shelves of LIDL's 94 Scottish stores from 3rd of May and features gins from Shetland, Orkney, Perthshire, Edinburgh and (of course) Glasgow.

Mike Hayward, our Co-Founder, said: “We’re thrilled to collaborate with LIDL for the first time and be included as part of the line-up for their inaugural Scottish Gin Festival.

“Our award-winning Makar Oak Aged Gin will be available for the first time in a supermarket, and we will also be supplying our signature Makar Original Dry Gin, the first ever gin to be distilled in the city of Glasgow.”

Thanks to a huge surge in craft spirit production, Scotland’s gin credentials are on the rise, currently accounting for 70% of the UK’s gin supply. Sales of LIDL’s gin range have increased by 41% in the last year across UK stores; a testament to the booming interest.
