Glasgow's Whisky Festival Exclusive Limited Edition Release Announced

Today we’re excited to reveal an exclusive Glasgow 1770 Single Malt Scotch Whisky bottling in collaboration with Glasgow’s Whisky Festival.

The delayed, yet much anticipated Glasgow’s Whisky Festival 2021, is taking place at Hampden Park in Glasgow this coming Saturday, the 19th of February 2022. As Headline Sponsor we’re looking forward to showcasing our range of Glasgow Distillery spirits including our rum, gins, vodkas and, of course, selection of whiskies.

In order to celebrate the festival, we have worked in partnership with the organisers to find a special cask of single malt whisky fit for the occasion.

Cask No. 17-598 is a first-fill Marsala cask, filled on the 23rd of August 2017 and bottled at 55.8% ABV on the 8th of February 2022. The spirit within is our peated whisky, distilled from malted barley which has been smoked to 50PPM with the aromatic and welcoming peat of the Scottish highlands. Non-chill-filtered and natural in colour, only 408 bottles are available from this single cask release.

Limited Edition Bottling

On the nose bonfire smoke and tobacco leaf open up to butterscotch, figs and hints of marzipan. Sweet smoke and dark chocolate on the palate lead to a cracked black pepper spiciness with notes of red apple, almond and shortcake. The finish is long with lingering peppercorn spice and sweet smoke.

This bottling is available at the festival shop from 12pm on Saturday, where visitors can choose to redeem their £10 voucher against the purchase.

Don’t have a ticket for the festival this year? Fear not, a small number of bottles will be launched live on the Royal Mile Whiskies website at 6pm on Saturday 19th of February. Royal Mile Whiskies currently offer shipping to many international countries, a full list of which can be found here

Visit our Glasgow 1770 stand at the festival to sample this exclusive limited-edition bottling.

Update (21/02/2022): A small number of bottles still remain on the Royal Mile Whiskies website, click here to discover more.
