Glasgow 1770 Triple Distilled Wins Gold at 2022 IWSC

Glasgow 1770 Triple Distilled Single Malt Scotch Whisky has been awarded a Gold Medal at the 2022 International Wine & Spirits Competition. 

Our triple distilled expression was marked 95 out of 100 points with the judges commenting that the sample offered notes of “marzipan, coconut and vanilla cream, lemongrass, orange blossom and vanilla. Fragrant florals and crisp green apple, spiced oak and hay”, with a “superbly spiced light oak laced finish.” 

The IWSC is one of the world’s most prestigious spirit competitions, welcoming the best drinks from across the globe which are blind tasted by a panel of expert judges, before being marked, ranked and cross-referenced for accuracy. The resulting list showcases the best of the best, a gold medal bestowing a universal indicator of quality in a very competitive field.

We’re thrilled to welcome this news as our Triple Distilled whisky reaches more customers and fans around the world.

As one third of our Signature Range, it is a core part of what we produce and showcases the lighter and more gentle side to our whisky production. Distilled three times in our copper pot stills and matured in a combination of fresh virgin American oak and first-fill ex-bourbon casks, this expression is what we call our ‘Smooth & Vibrant’ single malt with notes of vanilla, sweet honey, shortbread and orchard fruits, with a warming long-lasting finish.
