Another Gold for Glasgow 1770 The Original

We’re celebrating another Gold Medal for Glasgow 1770 Single Malt Scotch Whisky The Original – this time at the 2023 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

This prestigious award scheme is a key highlight in the international spirits competition calendar, to have been ranked alongside some of the best whiskies in the world is an honour for everyone at The Glasgow Distillery.

This latest Gold Medal comes hot on the heels of a Gold for The Original at the International Wine & Spirits Competition and adds to the growing list of Gold Medals for The Original, including:

• Gold – The Scotch Whisky Awards 2020
• Gold – The International Whisky Competition 2019 (also named ‘Best Lowland Single Malt Scotch’)
• Gold – International Spirits Challenge 2019
• Gold – San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2019
• Double Gold – The China Wine & Spirits Awards 2019

The Original was first released in 2018, becoming our inaugural distillery whisky. One-third of our Signature Range, The Original is double distilled using unpeated barley before maturation in first fill ex-bourbon casks and a finish in virgin American white oak. Bottled at 46% ABV without chill filtration and at natural colour, The Original is a true demonstration of fruity spirit production combined with active cask maturation.
