Glasgow 1770 Peated Wins Gold at San Francisco Spirits Awards
Thursday 29th April 2021We’re delighted to announce that Glasgow 1770 Single Malt Scotch Whisky – Peated – has been awarded a Gold Medal at this year’s San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
A Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition is one of the highest accolades a spirit can be awarded on the international stage. The medal was awarded to Glasgow 1770 Peated after a panel of the world’s most respected sensory experts tasted the spirit in a blind tasting alongside competing entries and scored it on a number of qualifying criteria. The San Francisco World Spirits Competition describe a Gold Medal award as a ‘universal indicator of exceptional quality and craftsmanship.
Glasgow 1770 Peated is a rich and smoky single malt that is distilled in copper pot stills at The Glasgow Distillery, combining the incredibly pure water of Loch Katrine with the finest Scottish barley that has been enriched with east-coast Scottish highland peat. Non-chill filtered and natural in colour, Glasgow 1770 Peated is matured in virgin oak and finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks before being bottled at 46% ABV.
To celebrate this excellent news, we’re offering our customers free UK P&P on purchases of Glasgow 1770 Peated between today and 12pm Sunday 2nd May 2021 – use code GOLDMEDAL at checkout to access the free UK shipping offer.
