1770 Glasgow Single Malt Scotch: Headlines Sponsor Of Glasgow's whisky Festival

Glasgow 1770 Single Malt Scotch Whisky is marking its first official sponsorship agreement as the headline sponsor of the 10th annual Glasgow’s Whisky Festival.

Taking place at Hampden Park on Saturday 10th November, the festival will welcome whisky enthusiasts to explore more than 65 stands, each one highlighting the finest in whisky, plus gin, rum and more.

We will be showcasing our sold-out inaugural single malt at this year’s event, with exclusive opportunities to try a dram, and the chance to register interest for future whisky releases.

Laid down in first fill ex-bourbon casks, and finished in virgin oak, 1770 delivers a full and rounded flavour from the very start. Non-chill filtered, it is bottled at an ABV of 46%.

In an exclusive tasting earlier this year, the people of Glasgow offered up their thoughts on the whisky. In the city’s own words, the whisky looks like “golden honey”; smells of “fresh apple and pear drops”, and tastes like “orchard fruit, velvety sweet caramel and toffee with a warm smooth finish”.  Many of these words take pride of place on the specially designed neck label.

It’s not all whisky-focused though - we will also be showcasing our award-winning range of Makar Gin, with samples of the five-strong range available to try and plenty of opportunity to buy a bottle to take home.

As the city’s first new independent single malt distillery in over a century, it’s important to us that Glaswegians are amongst the first people in the world to have the chance to sample this limited edition which sold out in a matter of days earlier this year.
