Makar Gin
Glasgow Southside Fizz
Refreshingly balanced
A simple combination of gin and mint with a splash of lime creates this refreshingly balanced classic. The Southside dates it's origins back to the Southside of Chicago and is said to have been the drink of choice for gangster and businessman Al Capone.

How We Make It
Add 60ml of Makar Original Dry Gin, 30ml of freshly squeezed lime juice and 15ml of sugar syrup to the cocktail shaker
Fill the shaker with cubed ice and shake the contents well
Open the shaker and add the fresh mint leaves, keeping one aside for garnish and gently roll the mint around the shaker, this ensures the oils in the leaves are released but not bruised which can create a bitter taste
Strain the contents into a highball glass filled with fresh ice and top with soda water
Garnish with the remaining fresh mint leaf
